Synopsis

Set during the early years of the Vietnam War, Rescue Dawn follows the true story of Dieter Dengler, a German-born Navy pilot who is shot down over Laos during a covert mission in 1966. Captured by Pathet Lao forces and imprisoned in a remote jungle camp, Dengler refuses to give up hope despite starvation, torture, and brutal conditions. Determined to regain his freedom, he devises a daring escape plan and, alongside fellow prisoner Duane Martin, embarks on a perilous journey through the unforgiving wilderness. Battling hunger, exhaustion, and constant danger, Dengler's extraordinary struggle for survival becomes a powerful story of courage, resilience, and the will to endure.
